Which is better for web designing, PHP or ASP.net

Many new web developer find it harder to choose between ASP.net and PHP, mostly used programing languages for server scripting languages for web designing. PHP and ASP both are server side programing languages. PHP is open-source and ASP. Net is develop and maintain by Microsoft.

Software Fight

In terms of cost PHP is totally free, on the other hand ASP.net requires commercial platform for Microsoft and in term of speed PHP is considered faster than ASP.net too.

PHP is platform independent so you can run on any platform but ASP.net runs only on Microsoft win32 plate form. PHP source is also available which makes it more flexible compare to ASP.net

ASP.net have some advantage too, if you want to integrate desktop application with web application than it should be your first choice. MSSQL and database technology is bigger than MySQL which is mostly used for PHP.

ASP and PHP comparison 

In conclusion, if you are looking for really big application and website altogether then ASP.net is better in web designing, But many Web designing firms used PHP too for this purpose too. But all other case PHP is better choice.
